Field Hockey Canada
Organization: Field Hockey Canada
Position: Special Project Coordinator
Location: Vancouver / Victoria
As Special Project Coordinator for Field Hockey Canada, I’ve been in charge of producing their entire Hall of Fame video portfolio for the past three years.
This job entails coordinating interviews with inductees, producing and editing induction videos, and drafting written complimentary articles for each inductee.
This role taught me a lot about how to manage a large video project individually and was my first experience in working directly for an organization. The responsibility that this gave me was valuable to developing my creativity, project management, and time management skills.
What’s also unique about this role is how connected it is to all my professional strengths and passions. I was able to use my journalism skills through the interviewing & research. I was also about to use my creativity in film making and editing in a genre that I love which is sports.
Over the past three years, I’ve produced 24 videos to honour some of the world class athletes and builders who’ve contributed greatly to Canadian field hockey.
There’s a significant responsibility that goes into cementing the legacy of such high performers who’ve played and administrated on global stages such as the Olympics, Pan American Games, and the FIH World Cup. It’s been an honour to be trusted with that responsibility over the last three years.
